Reading Two Birds at Once: What a Pancha Pakshi Table Says About the Other Person in the Room
Pancha Pakshi rates one person. Negotiations, interviews and difficult calls have two. This entry sets out exactly how much of a second person’s state you can establish from the published tables, and where that stops.
The short answer: you can rank everyone in a room for a two-and-a-half-hour block, and you cannot compare them minute by minute. Both halves of that matter.
The two layers

Five birds across twenty-seven nakshatras means roughly a fifth of any room holds your bird, and therefore your table — identical peaks and troughs, to the minute, for life. The nakshatra groups are uneven, running 5, 6, 5, 6, 5 from Vulture to Peacock, so the true shares fall between 18.5% and 22.2%.
The tables agree on block-level state
Published tables are written from one bird’s point of view, so it is not self-evident that two of them describe the same day. We tested it on a waxing Friday.
Source A is a 2018 Chennai book written around the Vulture, using a flat 06:00–18:00 day. Source B is software output from a different lineage, generated in 1993 for a Crow native using true sunrise and sunset. Neither knew of the other.

Five of five. Each bird’s main activity per block is a shared fact, not an artefact of whose table you are holding.
There is now a third witness. The engine behind our own panchang app computes this structure from the weekday and the paksha, and it was decoded independently of both sources above. Run it for the same Friday and it returns the same grid, cell for cell — all twenty-five daylight states and all twenty-five night ones.
A waxing Friday in full
Below is the complete block-level state of all five birds for one daylight segment, with real clock times. Location Mumbai, 17 August 2007: sunrise 06:24:02, sunset 19:01:21, daylight 12h 37m 19s, block length 2h 31m 28s.

Read it either way. Down a column is one person’s day. Across a row is a room at a given hour.
Two structural facts are visible in it. Every row contains all five activities exactly once, and so does every column. The day is a 5×5 Latin square — no block has two birds doing the same thing, and no bird repeats an activity within a segment.
What follows
Exactly one bird rules per block. Confirmed by the table above: one bold entry per row. Since a window scores as your activity multiplied by the activity of the bird holding the floor, your own maximum requires your bird to be ruling. That happens in one block per segment and no other.
The five peak windows never overlap. One bold entry per row, one per column, five blocks. The Vulture peaks in block 1, the Peacock in block 2, the Cock in block 3, the Crow in block 4, the Owl in block 5. At most one person in any room can be at full strength at any moment, and on a waxing Friday morning that person is a Vulture.
The block-level ranking is fixed before the block starts. Your activity does not change inside a block. Neither does anyone else’s. So in block 1 of the table above the order is settled: Vulture 1.0, Cock 0.8, Peacock 0.6, Owl 0.4, Crow 0.2. Waiting twenty minutes does not move you up it. Crossing into block 2 does — at 08:56 the Vulture drops from first to fourth and the Peacock goes from third to first.
The exchange between any two people is even. Your score in a window belonging to their bird is your activity times theirs. Their score in a window belonging to yours is theirs times yours. The same product. Across a full block, what you get out of them equals what they get out of you.
Worked example
Two people meet on the Friday above. One is a Cock, one a Crow.

The Cock should take the meeting before 08:56 or between 11:27 and 13:58. The Crow should take it after 13:58. Between 08:56 and 11:27 the difference is marginal and the Crow holds it.
Neither can improve their position by stalling inside a block. The only lever is which block.

The limit
The tables establish block-level state. They do not establish minute-level state for a second person, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Inside each block the segment is subdivided again into five short stretches, and both our sources list the native bird’s own stretch first. A Vulture’s table therefore places the Crow’s stretch at a different clock time than a Crow’s table does. We have no source in which the same weekday appears in two different birds’ detailed charts, so we cannot test whether the two conventions reconcile or genuinely conflict.
Until that is settled, compare two people by block. Do not compare them by the minute.
Getting your own column
The block layer is the computable one, and it is the layer Navashi gives you. Tell it your birth details once and it fixes your bird; after that it draws the ten stretches of any day — five between sunrise and sunset, five between sunset and the next sunrise — with their clock times for wherever you are.
That is one column of the grid above, for you, for any date. It is deliberately not the minute layer, for the reason set out in the section before this one.
