Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius): These signs are associated with stability and security. They are slow to change and prefer to maintain the status quo.
Dual signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces): These signs are a blend of movable and fixed qualities. They seek to improve upon the status quo and make things better.
Aries and Cancer: These are both movable signs and have an influence over each other. Planets in either sign can affect the other. Aries is where we get ideas, and Cancer is where we feel about those ideas.
Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn: These are all angular signs and have influence over each other. Planets in these signs can work together to make something happen if they are in good dignity. Aries is where we get ideas, Cancer is where we feel about them, Libra is where we evaluate if they are worth doing, and Capricorn is where we do the work to make them happen.
Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces: These signs are not connected to the spinal column and therefore have a greater capacity for detachment. Capricorn is the first stage of karma yoga (renouncing the fruits of one's actions), Aquarius is the second stage (renouncing the fruits of what others think), and Pisces is the third stage (renouncing the fruits of how we feel about ourselves).
Taurus and Gemini: Taurus rules resources, and Gemini seeks to improve upon those resources by finding new ways to use them.
Leo and Virgo: Leo rules our sense of self and vitality, and Virgo seeks to improve upon these through hard work and self-improvement.
Scorpio and Sagittarius: Scorpio is a vulnerable sign seeking emotional security, and Sagittarius improves upon these vulnerabilities by providing goals and a sense of purpose.
Aquarius and Pisces: Aquarius represents individuality, and Pisces improves upon this by spiritualizing the individual, leading to a higher level of consciousness.
